Enriching Excursion: Students Explore The World Of Books

On 13/02/2024, Shaheed Bishan Singh Memorial Sr. Secondary School students, led by Principal Mrs. Puja Singhal, ventured to a book fair with librarian Mrs. Shivani Sharma. The purpose was to ignite a passion for reading and expose them to diverse literary treasures. Mrs. Sharma guided students through a myriad of genres, fostering discussions and recommendations among peers. The visit, a testament to Mrs. Singhal's commitment to holistic education, was a resounding success, thanks to Mrs. Sharma's dedication. The enriching experience promises to nurture a lifelong love for literature and learning among students, heralding future literary endeavors.

Inter-house Photography Competition

In a dazzling display of visual storytelling, the senior segment students  showcased their photography skills at the recently concluded inter-house photography competition. The event, held on December 9th, coincided with the Preprimary Sports Day, creating a vibrant backdrop for the lens to capture moments of joy, competition, and sportsmanship. The criteria of judgment for the competition were centered around three key elements: best composition, best expression, and best story. Students unleashed their creativity, transforming ordinary snapshots into visual narratives that encapsulated the spirit of the day. The triumphant photographer of the day was none other than Arshpreet Khokkar, a talented student of class 11 of Bishan Singh House. Arshpreet's keen eye for detail, coupled with a knack for storytelling through the lens, earned him the first prize in the competition.

Champions on the Pitch

Shaheed Bishan Singh Memorial Senior Secondary School hosted a thrilling inter-house cricket match for senior students featuring Bishan Singh, Deep Singh, Mata Bhupinder Kaur, and Mai Hukmi houses. Under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Puja Singhal, the event emphasized the school's commitment to holistic development. In a display of skill and sportsmanship, Mai Hukmi House emerged as the winner, securing the top spot. The short but intense tournament showcased the students' cricketing skills, fostering unity and healthy competition among the school community. Congratulations resonated for all participants, promising more exciting sports events in the future.

Shaheed Bishan Singh Memorial Sr. Secondary School recently hosted an exhilarating Inter-House Cooking Competition, showcasing culinary talents among students. The event aimed to foster teamwork, creativity, and a love for cooking. Each house passionately presented a variety of dishes, from appetizers to desserts, under the vigilant eyes of judges. The competition not only highlighted the students' culinary skills but also emphasized time management and innovation in the kitchen. The vibrant atmosphere resonated with laughter and the aroma of delectable cuisines, creating a memorable experience for participants and spectators alike.
